Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou, the oldest of her four siblings, was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Audrey's parents as a dentist and a teacher, recognized and supported their daughter's enthusiasm for theater and drama at a young stage. The support they provided was enough to overcome her original goal of becoming a the first primatologist. There was an immediate rise in her career to become a well-known young actress. After her graduation in 1998, she took part in a French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to beginning the journey to become an actor. Although she studied at in the Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou is now averse to this upbringing, stating that she's not Catholic. Alongside her acting career, Tautou has also been a model and the face for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. She also has a serious passion for photography. She recently presented an exhibit of her work during the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. Her work is focused on celebrities in addition to the fame. It also features an assortment of self-portraits as well as a particular focus on the media that has been watching Tautou's career since her dramatic success after Amelie. Audrey Tautou's global recognition and popularity exploded after her role as Amelie Poulain's main actress in the film Le Fabuleux Destin of Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a box-office international film that received acclaim at award ceremonies around the globe. It is the most successful French language film in the US. The film's success led to a huge increase in production. Tautou was later cast in many films which included British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. Tautou also appeared alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
