April Lockhart is a born on July 4, 1995. In the seventh grade she began to take piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her passion for songwriting. At the age of 12 April composed her first single Different. At the age of 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing songs and honed her music abilities. After that, she started taking trips to write with her father in NY and LA. April started to include other subjects in the book, Take My Hand, for her friends who were dealing in the face of peer pressure, disability or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a beauty and lifestyle influencer who has a growing number of followers. She works with popular brand Ilia together, and is also an expert in the field of lifestyle. As a woman born with no left hand, the woman is a major part of her. However, it's not the entire tale. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability in her posts on Instagram, however she doesn't make it the focus of it. The message? The message is that we are more than just our physical self. The identities we have are complex and encompass a variety of aspects. Lockhart said via video that she doesn't wish to be defined solely by her handicap. She doesn't wish to become an advocate for disabled people who only speaks about it. There are a lot of aspects of Lockhart. My daily life isn't directly affected by disability. I go about my regular day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to problems. The same is true for my life, and I think that it is something to be talked about. Lockhart has been a great inspiration to her fellow women with regards to acceptance of oneself. Even so, Lockhart admits having moments of feeling uneasy about her appearance as well as wearing clothes with arms. She now wears any outfit she likes and uploads photos on Facebook with pride. Self-love for her was always a lengthy trip. This is true for everyone, regardless of the level of insecurity. The people you surround yourself with, who know your personal story and who can look into your heart are the best people to help you remember what you're worrying about.
